2023 BECE Result Release Date Projected


Days after the end of the 2023 BECE, the questions that triggers most minds was When will the 2023 BECE Result be released??

This is the most asked question by candidates, parents, and other stakeholders.

The 2023 BECE is over and candidates are selecting the Free SHS Schools effective 23rd August to 4th September 2023. The schools they select are those they intend to be considered for during the school placement.

However, the big question is when will the 2023 BECE results be released.?



The exams ended on the 11th of August 2023 very often the West African Examination Council takes a minimum of 45 days to complete marking grading and uploading of results.

However, in recent times the release of its BC and water results among others has gone beyond 45 days.




When will WAEC release the 2023 BECE results?

The Ghana Education team is projecting that the West African Examination Council  (WAEC) will release the 2023 BECE exam results in late October or early November 2023.

This will ensure that all BECE graduates who completed their basic education this year report to school for the first term of the 2023/2024 academic year which is projected to commence in October 2023. Note that the Ghana Education Service is yet to release the official academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic year.


Candidates who sat for this year’s BECE under the old curriculum would also be the last set of candidates to be assessed by WAEC using the old WASSCE syllabus.

In a related development, the Education minister has disclosed that from the 2023-2024 academic year, first-year students will be introduced to aviation and Aerospace courses.

Candidates or students would also be required to learn other science-related subjects such as advanced mathematics physics, and chemistry, with the hope that the students will be able to study STEM-related programs at the university in the future. This is part of efforts to promote stem-related courses in second-cycle schools and to change the dynamics of the country’s future professions for students who are entering Senior High Schools.

2023 SHS placement to begin with school choices verification – GES Announces

The whole Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the 2023 school placement exercise will begin with the verification of students’ school choices.

GES in a release signed by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, explained the rationale behind the new procedure as follows .

According to the release, ”this verification process is to ensure accuracy in students’ choice information before they are placed in their selected Second Cycle Schools.”

The verification exercise, commenced on 14th January, 2023, and will end on 22nd January, 2023.


GES noted as part of the verification exercise, “students, parents/guardians will receive SMS message from the CSSPS which contains web portal: https://csspsverify.com and USSD short code number *899*88# with 4digit token number.

“Students who may have errors in their initial selections should call 0556541525 or click on the edit button available on the web portal after their selection details are displayed with a copy of the original selection form.

“Students can also send an email with the copy of the original selection form to cssps2021@gmail com.”

GES cautioned students that the verification exercise is not to change schools but to confirm the initial choices selected.
